Allerton Botanical Gardens

This was probably the best place I have been to on the island so far. It was so tranquil. So this is a big picture post I hope you enjoy. Also, there is a picture of me where they filmed a Jurassic Park scene, when they found the wild raptor eggs.

Modern Life is....

Let me start this off saying, Happy Valentines day. Julia and I are going to this place Scotty's BBQ to get a taste of home. Hopefully their smoked brisket and sweet sauce is up to par.

I had my job interview on Monday, I would say it went as good as it could go. She said I have the job with out actually saying it. So I have another interview sometime next week with her partners. If I get this job it would be the highest paying kitchen job I've ever had plus benefits.

I have been on a diet, 227 is a bit too big for my best interests. I plan to get below 200 before Marjorie is due, that gives me till April 25th. I have been running at least 2 miles every day, drinking only water, and cutting back on the shit food I have been eating. I'm down to 221 now and it has only been a week.

We went to the beach the other day and took a few pictures.

This is why I'm dieting

Paradise Found.

So I'm finally here. Kauai, a small island somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. I'm currently living in a so called barn that is nicer than most houses while the house is being finished by a crew of Russian laborers. The five hour time difference is definitely the biggest change I've had to deal with. I'm on a way better sleep schedule though, but that might be due to nothing to do at night and the roosters crowing in the morning, yes roosters crow at sun up and it is impossible to escape.

Since I have been here I have seen the most beautiful landscape anyone can witness but I've also seen more hitch hikers in one day that I have seen in my whole life. It's quite odd to be honest the last thing I expected to see was burnt out hippy men and women thumbing up a mountain side.

There has one been one bad experience so far on this island oasis. Failing the Hawaiian Driving test today.
I FAILED A DRIVING TEST. Seriously, I think they make it harder so people like me cant get a Hawaiian License. Although my fiancee pass. Which makes me feel like less of a man.

Something they call Spouting Horn, It wasn't really spouting when we went there though

This view is two minutes from my house.

And here is my house all 3.5 acres.

FIRST

If you're reading this then you know I'm starting an adventure into fatherhood in a whole new place. A town called Kilauea on the small Hawaiian island of Kauai. My fiancee Julia's parents live there and are nice enough to move us out there and let us live with them. Some people say I hit the "lottery" but it's not as great and easy as it sounds but I wont get into that now.

Today was our Going Away/Baby Shower that our families threw for us. There were gifts, cupcakes and tons of AWWWs from all the cute baby clothes we got.

Here are some pictures from today mainly just of Julia and I.

awwww

Baby Marjorie

I'm creepin on Julia and Cara

Well there are more pictures but we haven't uploaded them all yet.

So this Blog is going to touch on all things that have to do with my Hawaiian experience.
Food, Golf, Hiking, Cooking, Being a good husband and an even better Dad.
